Darwin and Caryl Thornton were such a pleasure to work with back in November. The greenbelt behind their home was a wonderful place to shoot and their love for each other was so much fun to capture... not to mention, rather easy! They didn't stop smiling - until I asked them to pose otherwise. And I'd like to give special mention to Samantha... their aging and beloved black labrador. Good job, girl.

The Nordyke Family - Old Fairhaven
It was a nostalgic time with the Nordyke family as we shot down in Old Fairhaven, just South of Bellingham... my old stomping grounds! The day was so fun since these people are some of those closest to my heart -- the laughter was easy and the surroundings made for fantastic composition in the photos.
My Boys
One of our favorite pass times is to head down to the little lake close to our home in Everett and feed the ducks.

Aiden and Nolen Schwark
With a Mom who understands and appreciates photography like I do, I was honored to take some time and follow these two boys around capturing them doing whatever it is they do during the day... of course, we had our "staged" moments during the shoot but it was much more rewarding photographing them doing "their thing". Aiden, you were a champ!
Aiden got increasingly more physical with Nolen every time he attempted to bolt...
These next three shots remind me of photographs you find in an old gift box at your parents' house. You know, the gift box that's almost "soft" because its been worn in and used to store a collection of old photos taken during your early years...
One of my favorite shots that day... just love everything about it. From the lighting and the angle to the food on Nolen's face.
Great job boys... can't wait to meet the next little Schwark!

Ava, Harper and Baby Claire Kalous
Jeremy and Rachel invited me into their home a few weeks ago to capture their girls for this year's collage of Christmas photos. It was a wonderful time as Claire was not more than a couple weeks old and the older girls' love for her was so new, and none the less, fun to photograph...
Nothing more precious than naked newborns... Claire Margaret Kalous. Welcome little one...
